GRIFFINS WORKOUT AT TCBOOST
On March 1st our Griffins players had the opportunity to workout like the pros. Former NFL and Northwestern players, Bob and Tommy Christian along with their staff ran our players through drills they use to train their clients including high school, college and pro athletes. Thank you TCBoost.
APRIL COMBINE COMING SOON
We are working on final details for our April Off Season Workouts. Details to follow.
GRIFFINS INTRODUCING SHADOWMAN TACKLING SYSTEM IN 2015
North Shore Football will be the first youth football program in the state to use the new Shadowman Tackling System. The system will aid in teaching proper tackling technics while limiting contact during tackling drills.
HEADS UP FOOTBALL
The sport of football has never been safer. We are teaching the game in an entirely different way. Unique to our program and league, Heads Up Tackling and Blocking is being taught on day one and is continually taught throughout the football season.
THE CHICAGOLAND YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE (TCYFL)
NSYF participates in The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), the largest independent youth football organization in the country with over 40 participating Chicagoland communities. Creating better competition and fair play opportunities for all.
1ST-3RD GRADE TACKLE FOOTBALL OFFERING
NSYF offers tackle football for ages 7 thru 14. We are the only youth organization in the North Shore area to offer tackle football at the 1st thru 3rd grade levels.
Teaching the correct tackling and blocking techniques at a younger age makes for a better and safer game.
Our number one priority is the health and safety of our young athletes, this is why TCYFL and NSYF mandates that all coaches be certified in Advanced Concussion Training. Coaches are also required to be certified in Heads Up Blocking and Tackling techniques.
PLAYING MORE FOOTBALL
The NSYF football season runs longer than other local programs. Practice begins in late July with the introduction of Heads Up Football. Our season ends in mid November with a full playoffs schedule and TCYFL Superbowl Championship Games.
TRUE PLAYOFF SYSTEM
Unlike many leagues in the North Shore area who have a single game playoff day, NSYF participates in a full playoff schedule which leads to a televised TCYFL Championship game at all age levels.
OFF SEASON TRAINING
We afford several Off-Season Workout and Training opportunities for our players and families such as our Winter Combine at the Northwestern Indoor Football facilities and workouts with several of our partner programs.
Northwestern Football invites youth in grades 8th and under to participate in a football skills clinic following the 2015 Northwestern Football Spring Open Practice presented by Meijer. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in basic drills and learn the fundamentals all while interacting with members of the Northwestern football program.
