"JIM ROTH" VARSITY AWARD
Coach Roth presented his namesake Varsity Award to Grant Racine. Grant is a two year varsity starter who played center and linebacker.
The annual award is presented to an 8th grader who demonstrates the teachings of coach Roth on and off the field. We want to congratulate Grant and wish him luck at Loyola Academy next year.

We also want to thank all of our 8th graders and families and wish them the best of luck in high school next year.

"MARK RICE" VOLUNTEER AWARD
This year's Volunteer Award was presented to coach Eduardo Monk. After the departure of our Bantam head coach early in the season, coach Monk stepped up to take over. Coach Monk is an active Military Officer and had knee surgery during the season making this commitment a challenging one for him.
The award was presented by Mark Rice who started North Shore Football over 12 years ago. In his name we award this honor in appreciation to one of our many volunteers who demonstrates the dedication to our program like Mark did for many years.

BACK TO BACK TCYFL BIG TEN VARSITY CHAMPIONS
Our 10-1 Varsity Griffins team won their second consecutive TCYFL Championship avenging an earlier regular season loss to the undefeated and #1 seeded Cary Trojans.  After a scoreless first half the Griffins struck first and held on for a 20-14 victory. Congratulations to our boys, coach Roth and our varsity staff.

2017 TCYFL BIG TEN MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONS
Coach Huyler and his Middleweight team earned a return visit to the TCYFL Championship game taking on Plainfield. Our Griffins became the programs first Middleweight champions with a 46-33 victory. Rohan Patel lead the team with 7 touchdowns and over 400 yards rushing. Congratulations on a terrific season.

2017 TCYFL BIG TEN FEATHERWEIGHT RUNNERS-UP
Our #1 seeded North Shore Griffins Featherweight team fell just short in the TCYFL Championship game to Oak Park in a hard fought battle, 19-13. The Griffins were driving to score the go ahead touchdown late only to turnover the ball over on the 10. We are so very proud of our 8-3 team.

Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade Varsity team on their 2017 TCYFL Division Championship. We are very proud of our boys and their hard work this season. Thank you Coach Roth, Mathes, Choi and Petrucci for your dedication to our program and young athletes.

FEATHERWEIGHT-DIVISION CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade Featherweight team for their TCYFL Division Championship. Thank you to Coach Richardson, Rice, Saunders and Knight for their great leadership.

What Makes NORTH SHORE FOOTBALL Different?

YOUTH FOOTBALL HAS NEVER BEEN SAFER
The game of football today isn't your father's game. The game is taught and played very differently than even 5 years ago. Injuries are down and we continue to evolve the teachings and play every year.

OUR LEAGUE
The Griffins participates in The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), the largest independent youth football organization in the country with over 50 participating Chicagoland communities. Creating better competition and fair play opportunities for all.

STARTING THEM EARLY
NSYF offer tackle football for boys and girls ages 6 thru 14. We are one of the only youth organization in the North Shore area to offer tackle football for ages 6-9 year olds. Teaching the correct tackling and blocking techniques at a younger age makes for a Safer and Better game.

COACHES TRAINING
Our number one priority is the health and safety of our young athletes, this is why TCYFL and NSYF requires that all coaches be certified in the latest  USA Football Heads Up Blocking and Tackling techniques. As well all coaches participate in advanced concussion training and complete Positive Coaching certification (PCA). We continue to limit contact during the practice week utilizing new training tools such as the Shadowman Tackling System and Tackling Wheel.

PLAYING MORE FOOTBALL
The NSYF football season runs longer than other local programs. Practice begins in late July with the introduction of Heads Up Football. Our season ends in mid November with a full playoff schedule, ending with TCYFL  Championship Weekend.

TRUE PLAYOFFS
Unlike many local leagues in the North Shore area who have a single game playoff day, NSYF participates in a full playoff schedule which leads to a Live-Streamed TCYFL Championship Game at all different age levels.

WHO IS TCYFL?

The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL) is the largest independent youth tackle football league in the United States, fielding thousands of players on hundreds of teams from over 50  Member Communities throughout Chicagoland and SE Wisconsin. Including teams from communities; Antioch, Barrington, Bartlett, Batavia-N Aurora, Berwyn, Buffalo Grove, Cary, Crystal Lake, Des Plaines, Dundee, East Aurora, Elgin, Elmwood Park, GPH, Grant, Grayslake, Huntley, Johnsburg, Kenosha, Lake Geneva, Lake in the Hills, Lake Villa, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, McHenry, Mount Prospect, Mundelein, North Chicago, North Shore, North Side, Oak Park, Park Ridge, Plainfield, Portage Park, Prairie Ridge, Prospect Heights, Round Lake, Schaumburg, South Elgin, Streamwood, Villa Park, Warren, Wauconda, Waukegan, Westmont, WKCYF, Woodstock,
